About Shellie
Design shaped by craftsmanship, travel, and the way spaces make us feel.
For me, great design has never been about excess or trends. It is about creating spaces that feel thoughtful, collected, welcoming, and deeply personal to the people who live within them.
Years spent working in design, craftsmanship, restoration, and material artistry — combined with a lifelong appreciation for architecture, travel,
and beautifully layered interiors — continue to shape my approach today.
Whether exploring historic cities, quiet natural landscapes, or thoughtfully designed homes, I am continually inspired by the textures, materials, and emotional experience of place.
The Art of Beautiful Living
The most meaningful homes are not defined by perfection, but by the way they support the people who live within them.
I am drawn to interiors that feel welcoming, collected, and deeply personal — spaces where beauty and function work together effortlessly. Natural materials, carefully considered details, and a sense of ease create homes that feel both elevated and comfortable.
Whether designing a room, refining a floor plan, or selecting the smallest finishing detail, the goal remains the same: to create spaces that enrich daily life and feel authentic to the people who call them home.
The best interiors are not simply admired. They are lived in, gathered in, and remembered.
A foundation rooted in artistry, craftsmanship, and decades of
design experience.
For more than twenty-five years, my work has explored decorative finishes, specialty materials, restoration projects, and design consulting — collaborating on projects ranging from luxury residences to museums, cultural institutions, and nationally recognized installations.
Over the years, my work has included historic restoration projects for the Conservancy at Alcatraz Island, museums and cultural institutions, award-winning decorative finishes, international speaking engagements, and nationally recognized design collaborations, experiences that continue to influence the way I approach detail, craftsmanship, and the emotional experience of home.
I have also served as an international instructor and registered continuing education provider for architects and designers through the American Institute of Architects, sharing advanced techniques and material knowledge throughout the design and construction industry.
Inspired by architecture, travel, fine materials, and the beauty of nature.
Travel has long been one of my greatest creative influences. Experiencing historic architecture, local craftsmanship, natural landscapes, and the distinct character of different cultures continually shapes how I see interiors and the experience of home.
Some of my favorite moments are often the simplest — discovering a beautifully layered café tucked into a quiet street, wandering historic cities, gathering around a table for an unforgettable meal, or noticing how light, texture, and materials quietly influence the feeling of a space.
Those experiences continue to inform my approach to interiors today: spaces that feel refined yet welcoming, elevated yet deeply livable, and thoughtfully collected over time rather than overly designed all at once.
